I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and growing up was a Junior Olympic boxer and a track sprinter at Fort Hamilton HS, Brooklyn. I enlisted right out of HS and knew I wanted to be an Army Ranger, so I enlisted from Rhode Island to receive an option 40 11X contract which guaranteed me a slot at Ranger selection. I left for basic training in July 2012 and following all my training, ended up at 2nd Ranger Battalion in Joint Base Lewis-Mcchord, Wa. I deployed one time in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After two years in Ranger Regiment, I knew I was getting out of the Army so I decided to follow one of my squad leaders to a 2nd Infantry Division recon platoon, where I got to be a Recon assistant team leader and did some time in the sniper section. I finished up my active duty service in June 2016 and then joined the National Guard Airborne Infantry unit in Rhode Island. Transitioning from the military was difficult at first but I feel that my nursing program at St. Josephs College, as well as staying active physically has helped me stay focused on my goals and out of trouble. “Rangers Lead The Way”
