Home / About Airborne Tri Team / Erick Bautista

Erick Bautista was born in Lima, Peru and raised Flushing, Queens. He later moved to Long Island where he attended and graduated Glen Cove high school in 2003. He joined the NY Army National guard as an M1 Abrams tanker during his senior year in high school, and was assigned to the 101st Cavalry, A-CO. He later reclassified in another MOS, and was re-assigned 1-69th infantry, B-CO, and would deploy with this unit in 2008 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He served as a Mortar gunner and left the Army in 2009.

Erick Bautista was introduced to Airborne Tri Team in the summer of 2016, with little knowledge about the triathlon sport. He quickly grew to admire the discipline the sport required, while building new friendships within the team. Being a member of Airborne Tri Team has allowed Erick to re-align his fitness goals, and work towards achieving a healthier lifestyle.
