One of Airborne Tri Teams biggest supporters, Jean Mellano, wrote a memoir about her husband Steve Tarpinian, a triathlon competitor, coach, friend and companion, who took his own life on March 15th 2015 due to suffering from depression. Besides being widely known in the triathlon indurstry, Steve’s true legacy is the lives he positively impacted while on his journey. Slipped Away includes tributes from his soul mate, Jean, of 33 years, his colleauges, his students, the triathlon community as well as his own writings. The intention of this book is to have Steve’s depth of spirit and compassion live on and continue to have a positive impact on the lives of others.
